Labor of Love: A PhotoVoice Project
What is PhotoVoice
PhotoVoice is a Participatory Action Research approach that combines the power of PHOTOgraphy & the VOICES of communities experiencing oppression in order to promote social justice.
About the Project
Our PhotoVoice Project began in the spring of 2021 when a group of social work Ph.D. students partnered with members of the Peer Network to reveal the experiences of peer workers & those they engage with during harm reduction outreach in NYC.
What did we find
After we analyzed the data (photographs taken by the peer researchers & our collective narrative reflections), we identified themes representing elements of the Peer Network’s Labor of Love.
